# Leave an organization. The person's other sessions acting for it are signed out; this one moves to their oldest remaining organization, or to none

`POST /v1/me/organizations/{id}/leave`

## Request

## Path parameters

- `id` string, required

## Response `204`

The person left the organization.

## Other responses

- `400`: The request is invalid.
- `401`: The credential is missing or invalid.
- `403`: The credential is not allowed to do this (`forbidden`). For a signed-in session: `permission_denied`, the person's role in the organization lacks the permission this needs (ask an owner); `no_organization`, the person belongs to no organization yet (start one with `POST /v1/me/organizations` or accept an invitation).
- `404`: `not_found`: the person is not an active member of that organization (the same answer whether or not it exists).
- `409`: `last_owner`: the person is the organization's last owner. Make someone else an owner first.
- `422`: The case did not pass a check.
