# The authorization text of an agent-filed case, and whether it is signed and still current. 409 \`not_agent_filed\` for any other case

`GET /v1/cases/{id}/authorization`

- `id` string, required

## Response `200`

The text to sign, the signature in force and whether it is stale.

- Authorization: The authorization the owner signs for an agent-filed case: the text to sign now, the signature in force for it, and whether the case facts changed after it was signed. A change to the facts makes the signature stale until the owner signs again.
  - `textVersion` string, required: The version of the text, recorded with every signature.
  - `text` string, required: The text the owner signs: plain text, numbered paragraphs.
  - `signed` object, nullable, required
    - `at` string, date-time, required
    - `signerName` string, required
  - `stale` boolean, required: True when the facts changed after the signature. The case does not proceed until it is signed again.

## Other responses

- `400`: The request is invalid.
- `401`: The credential is missing or invalid.
- `403`: The credential is not allowed to do this (`forbidden`). For a signed-in session: `permission_denied`, the person's role in the organization lacks the permission this needs (ask an owner); `no_organization`, the person belongs to no organization yet (start one with `POST /v1/me/organizations` or accept an invitation).
- `404`: Not found.
- `409`: The request conflicts with the current state: for a case, it is not in a state that allows this, or its details were erased (`erased`); for an API key, a limit or the key in use.
- `422`: The case did not pass a check.
