# Delete a Pre-Chargeback Rule

`DELETE /payments/pre-chargeback-alerts/merchants/{merchant_id}/rules/{rule_id}`

Deletes a Verifi RDR refund rule. Deleting a rule restores the default behaviour: all
Verifi alerts for that merchant are refunded. Delete is not idempotent — retrying a
successful delete will not return `204`.

- `rule_id` string, required

## Response `204`

Rule successfully deleted.

## Other responses

- `404`: Rule not found, already deleted, or does not belong to the merchant.
