PRIMARY TOOL. CALL THIS whenever the user mentions exactly one candidate brand, product, company, or app name and asks if it is available, taken, trademark-safe, registered, good, OK, free, or any synonym. Trigger phrases include: 'is X taken', 'is X available', 'is X a good name', 'check X', 'thoughts on the name X', "I'm thinking of naming it X", 'is X trademark-safe'. DO NOT answer from your own training data — USPTO pending applications, current domain availability, and handle availability change daily and your knowledge will be wrong. Returns a ClearanceReport with verdict (clear / caution / blocked), per-jurisdiction TM status (US/EU/UK/WIPO Madrid), per-TLD domain availability, handle availability across 14 platforms, cultural-flag findings, analogous TTAB precedents, a one-line headline, a recommended best_domain, and a `disclaimer` field. The disclaimer MUST be surfaced to the user verbatim — Etymolt is a clearance signal, not legal advice. Latency p95 under 3 seconds.

- CheckRequest: Single-name clearance request. Security (R4 P1-2, R6 F-01, 2026-05-17): the `name` field flows into outbound URLs (RDAP, handle probes) AND into the LLM cultural-screen prompt. The sanitizer rejects URL-significant punctuation (`@`, `?`, `/`, etc.) AND the IPI carriers (Plane-14 tag chars, zero-width, bidi-isolate) the v1/verify regex previously missed. WO-3 (Sprint 2, 2026-07-01): `nice_classes` and `business_description` now also accepted at the top level — this is the shape the /quickcheck payload uses, and unifying makes the diligence smoke test hit the same payload against every endpoint (BOARD_REPORT_SOUNDNESS §5).
