# Change current user password

`POST /v1/users/changePassword`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.chat.ethora.com`
- URL: `https://api.chat.ethora.com/v1/users/changePassword`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

**Auth**: User JWT

Change the current user's password. Pass `newPassword` (preferred);
`npassword` is accepted as a deprecated alias for backward
compatibility - if both are present, `newPassword` wins.

## Request body

- object
  - `password` string, required: Current account password.
  - `newPassword` string: New password to set. 8+ characters recommended.
  - `npassword` string: **Deprecated** - kept as a backward-compatible alias for `newPassword`. New integrations should use `newPassword`. If both are sent, `newPassword` wins.
