# Mute a chat for the current user

`PUT /v1/chats/my/{chatName}/mute`

## Request

**Auth**: User JWT

Mutes a chat the caller is a member of. The flag is stored on the
caller's own membership, so other members are not affected. Idempotent.
The state is returned as `muted` on `GET /v1/chats/my` and
`GET /v1/chats/my/{chatName}`. This is a stored preference only; it does
not change push delivery by itself.
