# Create a Copilot chat

`POST /ai-chats`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://public.escape.tech/v3`
- URL: `https://public.escape.tech/v3/ai-chats`
- Auth: API key in header `X-ESCAPE-API-KEY`

Create a Copilot chat for the authenticated user. The organization is resolved from the API key and is never taken from the request body. Chats are always created as non-internal.

## Request body

- object
  - `title` string, required: The title of the chat
  - `template` 'COPILOT' | 'DEFAULT': The chat template to use. Defaults to COPILOT.

## Response `200`

OK

- object
  - `id` string, uuid, required: The id of the chat
  - `title` string, required: The title of the chat
  - `createdAt` string, date-time, required: The date and time the chat was created

## Other responses

- `400`: Bad Request
