# Live state availability

`GET /states/availability`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://esahayak.io/api/v1`
- URL: `https://esahayak.io/api/v1/states/availability`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

Which states are accepting new stamp orders right now. `active` reflects the live operational switch (the same toggle gating the consumer checkout) on top of static serviceability — a state can be temporarily disabled, e.g. during government portal downtime. Rows for inactive states are rejected by validate/create with per-row error code `STATE_INACTIVE`, so check here (or the `active` flag on `GET /states/{code}`) before submitting. Loads no per-state config, so it is cheap to call often; the switch applies to sandbox and live modes alike.

## Query parameters

- `active` boolean

## Response `200`

Per-state live availability.

- object
  - `data` StateAvailability[]
    - `code` string, required
    - `name` string, required
    - `active` boolean, required: True when the state is currently accepting new stamp orders.
    - `eStampAvailable` boolean, required
    - `traditionalAvailable` boolean, required
  - `count` integer: Number of states returned (after the `active` filter).
  - `activeCount` integer: Total states currently active (independent of the filter).

## Other responses

- `401`: Missing / invalid / expired / revoked key
