# Get Preferences

`GET /api/auth/preferences`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.equity-rank.com` (the document declares no server; this is the origin it was published from)
- URL: `https://api.equity-rank.com/api/auth/preferences`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

Returns the authenticated user's UI preferences.

Currently exposes `experience_mode` ('beginner' | 'expert' | None). None means
the user has not chosen yet, so the frontend shows the first-run prompt. Stored
on the subscriptions row (the same place as digest_opt_out / weekly_picks_email
and other per-user flags). Best-effort: any read failure returns None so the
client falls back to its local value rather than erroring.
