# Create Transactions

`POST /transactions/`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.envelopebudget.com` (the document declares no server; this is the origin it was published from)
- URL: `https://api.envelopebudget.com/transactions/`
- Auth: one of:
  - API key in header `X-API-Key`
  - OAuth 2 (password, token URL `token`)

Creates new transactions for the currently authenticated user.

Returns:
- The newly created transaction.

  - `envelope_id` integer
  - `date` string, date, required
  - `number` string, required
  - `payee` string, required
  - `memo` string, required
  - `amount` number, required
  - `cleared` boolean, required
