# Get a free API key (150 req/day, 5 per call, no expiry) emailed to you

`POST /v1/keys/free`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.endoflife.ai`
- URL: `https://api.endoflife.ai/v1/keys/free`
- Auth: none required

Re-entering the email of a live key re-sends that key. Free keys do not expire. A deactivated key (a paid subscription that ended or was refunded) is not re-sent: the answer is 410 with key_status and the way forward.

Key emailed: {ok, message}

## Other responses

- `400`: Invalid email or body
- `410`: The key issued to this address has been deactivated (key_status inactive)
- `429`: Signup limit reached (3 a day per address)
- `502`: The key email could not be sent
