# Change sharing

`PATCH /api/v2/itineraries/{externalId}/sharing`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://www.endlesstravelplans.com`

- Auth: HTTP bearer

The Review step's share switches, owner only: `link: true` turns link sharing on (metered once per
itinerary for free accounts) and answers the share url; `link: false` stops sharing and co-editing;
`coEdit` lets link holders edit (Pro owners). An advisor deliverable and a locked trip cannot be shared.

## Other responses

- `401`: unauthenticated: No valid bearer token was sent.
- `403`
- `422`: validation_failed: The request body failed validation; field messages are in `errors`.
- `429`: rate_limited: A throttle or a per-account allowance refused the request; `retry_after` or `remaining` may be present.
- `500`: server_error: Unhandled failure; quote `request_id` to support.
