# Invite Collaborator

`POST /api/v1/trips/{externalId}/collaborators/invite`

## Request

Send an invitation to collaborate on a trip.

## Request body

- object
  - `email` string, required: The invitee's email.
  - `role` string, nullable: Role: viewer, editor, admin.

## Response `201`

## Other responses

- `401`: unauthenticated: No valid bearer token was sent.
- `403`: guest_not_allowed: A guest account tried an action that needs a real account.
- `409`: already_collaborator: The invitee already collaborates on the trip.
- `422`
- `429`: rate_limited: A throttle or a per-account allowance refused the request; `retry_after` or `remaining` may be present.
- `500`: server_error: Unhandled failure; quote `request_id` to support.
