# Start mobile signup

`POST /api/v3/auth/mobile/signup`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.endless.health` (the document declares no server; this is the origin it was published from)
- URL: `https://api.endless.health/api/v3/auth/mobile/signup`
- Auth: none declared

Looks up the email in Firebase and returns one of four statuses. When the address is free, upserts a Core user and ph_data row (new users are inactive). A verified Firebase account returns account_exists; if a Core user already exists and is inactive, it is activated. Does not create a Firebase account.

## Request body

- MobileSignupRequestSchema: First step. Carries no password: the Firebase account is not created until the email address has been verified.
  - `email` string, email, required
  - `site_id` integer, required
  - `locale` 'en' | 'es'

## Response `200`

Successful Response

- MobileSignupResponseSchema
  - `status` 'ready' | 'account_exists' | 'account_unavailable' | 'verification_required', required: Outcome of the first mobile signup step. READY is the only status that advances the app to the verification screen; the other three are terminal for this attempt.

## Other responses

- `404`: Not found
- `422`: Validation Error
