# Find the email of a person

`POST /tools/find/email`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.emelia.io`
- URL: `https://api.emelia.io/tools/find/email`
- Auth: API key in header `Authorization`

Starts an email search for one person and returns a `jobId` immediately. Cost: 1 credit, debited when the job starts and refunded when no email is found (it is NOT refunded when the search times out). The search runs in two passes when `companyWebsite` is given and finds nothing: a second pass with the company name only. Poll `GET /tools/find/email/{jobId}` every 3 to 5 seconds until `status` is `done`; a search can take up to about 2 minutes per pass.

## Request body

  - `fullname` string, required: First and last name.
  - `companyName` string, required
  - `companyWebsite` string: Company domain or website. Strongly improves results.
  - `country` string, required: REQUIRED. Country code of the person, ISO 3166-1 alpha-2 (for example `FR`), passed to the provider as `country_code`.

## Response `200`

Success.

  - `jobId` string: MongoDB ObjectId: 24 hexadecimal characters.

## Other responses

- `400`: Invalid request.
- `401`: Missing, malformed, unknown or disabled API key. The key must be exactly 48 characters, otherwise it is treated as a session token and rejected the same way.
