# Add a contact to an email list

`POST /emails/lists/contacts`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.emelia.io`
- URL: `https://api.emelia.io/emails/lists/contacts`
- Auth: API key in header `Authorization`

> **Deprecated.**

Adds one contact to an existing contact list (id = list ObjectId). Any extra key in contact is stored as a custom variable. Fails if the email is already in the list. New integrations should use the multichannel /advanced campaign endpoints instead.

  - `contact` object, required
    - `email` string, email, required
    - `firstName` string
    - `lastName` string
    - `phoneNumber` string

## Response `200`

Contact added.

## Other responses

- `400`: Business or validation error. 400 by default; Joi validation errors carry code INVALID_REQUEST.
