# Create a campaign

`POST /advanced/campaigns`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.emelia.io`
- URL: `https://api.emelia.io/advanced/campaigns`
- Auth: API key in header `Authorization`

Creates an empty multichannel campaign in `DRAFT` status with default settings (35 new email contacts per day, 100 emails per day, 20 LinkedIn contacts per day, Monday to Friday 08:00 to 17:00, tracking off) and a sequence that only contains the START step. The name must be unique in your account. Webhooks registered with `campaignId: "ALL_CAMPAIGNS"` and `type: "advanced"` are copied onto the new campaign.

## Request body

  - `name` string, required: Unique campaign name.
  - `timeZone` string: IANA time zone. Ignored when unknown (the default `Europe/Brussels` is kept).

## Response `200`

Success.

  - `campaignId` string: MongoDB ObjectId: 24 hexadecimal characters.

## Other responses

- `400`: Invalid request.
- `401`: Missing, malformed, unknown or disabled API key. The key must be exactly 48 characters, otherwise it is treated as a session token and rejected the same way.
- `500`: Unexpected error. IMPORTANT: this is also what you receive today when the per minute quota of your account is exceeded (the quota error is not mapped to 429 for API keys). No `Retry-After` header is sent. Wait until the next minute window before retrying.
