# Create an artifact download URL

`GET /sessions/agents/{sessionId}/artifacts/{artifactId}/download`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://elicit.com/api/v2`
- URL: `https://elicit.com/api/v2/sessions/agents/{sessionId}/artifacts/{artifactId}/download`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

Create a short-lived presigned URL for an artifact returned by the list-artifacts endpoint.

The URL expires after 30 minutes. Call this endpoint again to issue a fresh URL. Treat the URL as a credential while it is valid: do not log it or store it as a permanent share link.

- `sessionId` string, uuid, required
- `artifactId` string, required

## Response `200`

Short-lived artifact download URL.

- DownloadAgentSessionArtifactResponse
  - `downloadUrl` string, required: Short-lived presigned URL to download the artifact contents.
  - `expiresAt` string, required: ISO 8601 timestamp after which the download URL is no longer valid.
  - `filename` string, required: Suggested filename for the downloaded artifact.
  - `contentType` string, nullable, required: MIME type of the artifact, when known.

## Other responses

- `400`: The request body, query parameters, or path ID failed validation.
- `401`: Authentication failed. The API key is missing, invalid, revoked, or expired.
- `403`: API access is not available on your current plan. Upgrade to Pro or above to use the API.
- `404`: The session was not found, or the artifact is not in the session's current artifact list.
- `429`: Rate limit exceeded. More than 100 requests per minute were received from your IP address; further requests are blocked for 5 minutes.
- `500`: An unexpected error occurred. Retry reads with backoff; before retrying a write, check whether it took effect. See Error Handling for retry guidance.
