# Remove sources from a collection

`DELETE /library/collections/{collectionId}/sources`

## Request

Removes sources from a collection you own or can edit, whichever member added them. A member's own source stays in their library; a shared collection's own paper goes to the collection's trash for 30 days. Send the ids in a JSON body. `removedCount` is the number removed; an id that is not in the collection is skipped.

  - `sourceIds` string[], required: Ids of your library sources.

## Response `200`

How many memberships were removed.

- RemoveLibraryCollectionSourcesResponse
  - `removedCount` integer, required: Sources removed; ids not in the collection are skipped. A member's own source stays in their library. A shared collection's own paper moves to the collection's trash for 30 days.

## Other responses

- `400`: A malformed id, or an unknown or invalid query parameter.
- `401`: Authentication failed. The API key is missing, invalid, revoked, or expired.
- `403`: API access is unavailable on your plan, or your role does not allow this action.
- `404`: The collection does not exist or is not visible to you.
- `429`: Rate limit exceeded. More than 100 requests per minute were received from your IP address; further requests are blocked for 5 minutes.
- `500`: An unexpected error occurred. Retry reads with backoff; before retrying a write, check whether it took effect. See Error Handling for retry guidance.
