# Delete History Item

`DELETE /v1/history/{history_item_id}`

Delete a history item by its ID

## Path parameters

- `history_item_id` string, required: History item ID to be used, you can use GET https://api.elevenlabs.io/v1/history to receive a list of history items and their IDs.

## Headers

- `xi-api-key` string, nullable: Your API key. This is required by most endpoints to access our API programmatically. You can view your xi-api-key using the 'Profile' tab on the website.

  - `status` string, required: The status of the deletion request. If the request was successful, the status will be 'ok'. Otherwise an error message with http code 500 will be returned.
