# Accept Invitation As New User

`POST /v1/auth/invitations/{token}/accept`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.elaan.io` (the document declares no server; this is the origin it was published from)
- URL: `https://api.elaan.io/v1/auth/invitations/{token}/accept`
- Auth: none declared

Accept an invite as a brand-new user (unauthenticated — the emailed token is
the proof of address control). Creates an already-verified user + their
membership + marks the invite accepted, all in the one request transaction,
then auto-logs-in (token scoped to the joined tenant, set as their default).
If a user already exists for the email, it's a 409 → use the sign-in flow.

## Path parameters

- `token` string, required

## Request body

- AcceptInvitationRequest: Accept an invitation as a brand-new user: set the password for the account being created. (Existing users accept via the authenticated endpoint and send no body.)
  - `password` string, required

## Response `200`

Successful Response

- AccessTokenResponse
  - `access_token` string, required
  - `token_type` string

## Other responses

- `404`: No such invitation
- `409`: Already accepted/revoked, or a tenant exists for this email
- `422`: Expired invitation, or a too-short password
