# Trigger an automation

`POST /v1/automations/{automationId}/trigger`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://public.eeko.app`
- URL: `https://public.eeko.app/v1/automations/{automationId}/trigger`
- Auth: API key in header `x-eeko-api-key`

Runs one of your automations, as if its Stream Deck trigger fired.

## Path parameters

- `automationId` string, uuid, required

## Request body

- TriggerRequest
  - `deviceName` string: A name for the device that sent the trigger.

## Response `200`

The automation was triggered.

- TriggerResult
  - `ok` unknown, required

## Other responses

- `400`: The automation id is not a UUID, or the body is not a valid `TriggerRequest`.
- `401`: The API key is missing, malformed, unknown or revoked. All four answer the same way.
- `404`: No automation with this id belongs to your account.
- `409`: The automation is disabled.
- `422`: The automation has no Stream Deck trigger.
- `429`: Too many requests from this IP address or account.
- `500`: Something went wrong on Eeko's side. Retry later.
