# Retrieve the HTML template used for displaying a document

`GET /{docid}`

## Request

- Base URL: `/exist/apps/tei-publisher` (relative, and the document was published on a file host, not at the API’s origin)
- URL: `/exist/apps/tei-publisher/{docid}`
- Auth: one of:
  - API key in cookie `teipublisher.com.login`
  - HTTP basic

Get the HTML template associated with the given document. This is called whenever the users tries to view a document. The actual content of the document will then be loaded by the template.

## Path parameters

- `docid` string, required

## Query parameters

- `template` string
- `view` 'page' | 'div' | 'single'
- `odd` string
- `action` string

## Response `200`

HTML view for the document

## Other responses

- `404`: The document was not found
- `500`: An error occurred
