# Create Collection

`POST /v3/universal-ai/collections`

## Request

Create a collection on a provider.

The model string is fixed at creation: items added here and
/v3/universal-ai calls against this collection all run on its provider.
Returns the collection id to use in item operations and inference calls.

## Request body

- CreateCollectionRequest: Body for creating a collection.
  - `model` string, required: Model string the collection binds to, as 'feature/subfeature/provider' (e.g. 'image/face_recognition/amazon'). Fixed at creation: item operations and /v3/universal-ai calls against this collection all run on that provider.
  - `name` string, nullable: Optional human-readable name for the collection.

## Response `201`

Successful Response

- CollectionResponse: A collection owned by the authenticated user.
  - `collection_id` string, uuid, required: Client-facing collection id; use it in item operations and in /v3/universal-ai calls that take a collection_id input.
  - `model` string, required: 'feature/subfeature/provider' string the collection is bound to.
  - `name` string, nullable: Collection name, if any.

## Other responses

- `422`: Validation Error
