# Create a specification.

`PUT /specification`

## Request body

- CreateSpecificationRequest — The data used to create a new specification.
  - `shortName` string, required — The specification's short name.
  - `fullName` string, required — The specification's full name.
  - `description` string — The specification's description.
  - `hidden` boolean — Whether the specification should be hidden.
  - `displayOrder` number — The specification's display order relative to other groups and specifications.
  - `apiKey` string — The API key to set for the specification. If this key is already assigned, a new one will be generated.
  - `group` string — The API key of the specification group within which to create the specification. If not provided the specification will be created directly under the domain.

## Response `200`

Specification created.

- ApiKeyResponse — The API key that was assigned to the creation of a new element.
  - `apiKey` string, required — The API key value.

## Other responses
