# Create a system.

`PUT /system`

## Request body

- CreateSystemRequest — The data used to create a new system.
  - `shortName` string, required — The system's short name.
  - `fullName` string, required — The system's full name.
  - `description` string — The system's description.
  - `version` string — The system's version information.
  - `apiKey` string — The API key to set for the system. If this key is already assigned, a new one will be generated.
  - `organisation` string, required — The API key identifying the organisation in which to create the system.

## Response `200`

System created.

- ApiKeyResponse — The API key that was assigned to the creation of a new element.
  - `apiKey` string, required — The API key value.

## Other responses

- `429` — Call rate limit threshold exceeded for this operation.
- `default` — The received request was invalid.
