# Create a domain.

`PUT /domain`

## Request body

- CreateDomainRequest — The data used to create a new domain.
  - `shortName` string, required — The domain's short name.
  - `fullName` string, required — The domain's full name.
  - `description` string — The domain's description.
  - `reportMetadata` string — The domain's additional metadata for XML reports.
  - `apiKey` string — The API key to set for the domain. If this key is already assigned, a new one will be generated.

## Response `200`

Domain created.

- ApiKeyResponse — The API key that was assigned to the creation of a new element.
  - `apiKey` string, required — The API key value.

## Other responses

- `429` — Call rate limit threshold exceeded for this operation.
- `default` — The received request was invalid.
