# Get filing details

`GET /api/v1/filings/{accession}`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://earningsfeed.com`
- URL: `https://earningsfeed.com/api/v1/filings/{accession}`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

Retrieve detailed information about a specific SEC filing by accession number.

## Accession Number Format

The SEC accession number uniquely identifies each filing. It can be provided with or without dashes:
- **With dashes**: `0000320193-24-000126`
- **Without dashes**: `000032019324000126`

Format breakdown: `NNNNNNNNNN-YY-NNNNNN`
- First 10 digits: Filer's CIK (padded with zeros)
- Next 2 digits: Year
- Last 6 digits: Sequence number

## Response Contents

### Filing Metadata
- **formType**: SEC form type (10-K, 8-K, 4, etc.)
- **filedAt**: SEC filing date, a calendar date at midnight UTC (read the date part only; do not convert it to a local time zone)
- **acceptTs**: SEC acceptance timestamp (null if provisional)
- **url**: Direct link to filing on SEC EDGAR

### Documents Array
Each filing contains one or more documents:
- **Primary document**: The main filing (10-K.htm, form4.xml, etc.)
- **Exhibits**: Supporting documents (EX-21, EX-31, EX-99, etc.)
- Use `secRelativeDir` + `filename` to construct full document URLs

### Roles Array
Entities involved in the filing:
- **filer**: The entity submitting the filing
- **issuer**: The company whose securities are discussed
- **reporting-owner**: The insider (for Forms 3/4/5)

## Constructing Document URLs

To get a specific document, combine:

- FilingDetail
  - `accessionNumber` string, required: SEC accession number (e.g., 0000320193-24-000126)
  - `accessionNoDashes` string, nullable, required: Accession number without dashes (18-digit format)
  - `cik` integer, required: SEC Central Index Key (CIK) - unique company/filer identifier
  - `formType` string, required: SEC form type (10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, 4, etc.)
  - `filedAt` string, date-time, required: SEC filing date. A calendar date encoded as midnight UTC: read only the date part (YYYY-MM-DD) and never convert it to a local time zone. For the moment the SEC accepted the filing, use acceptTs.
  - `acceptTs` string, date-time, nullable, required: When the SEC accepted the filing (null if provisional)
  - `provisional` boolean, required: Whether this is a provisional (not yet finalized) filing
  - `feedDay` string, nullable, required: Feed day in YYYY-MM-DD format
  - `title` string, required: Filing title/description from SEC
  - `url` string, uri, required: URL to the filing index on SEC EDGAR
  - `sizeBytes` integer, required: Size of the primary document in bytes
  - `secRelativeDir` string, nullable, required: Relative path on SEC EDGAR for constructing document URLs
  - `companyName` string, nullable, required: Company name from the filing
  - `primaryTicker` string, nullable, required: Primary stock ticker symbol
  - `company` FilingDetailCompany, nullable, required: Detailed company information if available
    - `cik` integer, required: SEC Central Index Key (CIK) - unique company/filer identifier
    - `name` string, required: Company name
    - `stateOfIncorporation` string, nullable, required: State or country of incorporation code
    - `stateOfIncorporationDescription` string, nullable, required: Full name of incorporation location
    - `fiscalYearEnd` string, nullable, required: Fiscal year end (MMDD format)
    - `entityType` string, nullable, required: SEC entity type classification
  - `documents` FilingDocument[], required: List of documents included in this filing
    - `seq` integer, required: Document sequence number (ordering within the filing)
    - `filename` string, required: Filename of the document on SEC EDGAR
    - `docType` string, required: Document type (matches form type for primary, EX-## for exhibits)
    - `description` string, nullable, required: Document description/title
    - `isPrimary` boolean, required: Whether this is the primary document of the filing
  - `roles` FilingRole[], required: Entities involved in this filing (filers, issuers, etc.)
    - `cik` integer, required: CIK of the entity in this role
    - `role` string, required: Role type (filer, issuer, subject-company, reporting-owner, etc.)

## Other responses

- `400`: Invalid accession number format
- `401`: Unauthorized - API key required
- `404`: Filing not found
- `429`: Minute rate limit or tier monthly quota exceeded. Retry-After points to the relevant minute or monthly reset.
- `500`: Internal server error
