# Delete a dashboard.

`DELETE /v1/dashboards/{id}`

## Request

- Base URL: `http://localhost:8080`
- URL: `http://localhost:8080/v1/dashboards/{id}`
- Auth: one of:
  - API key in cookie `dvt_session`
  - HTTP bearer

Soft-deletes the dashboard and everything under it (its pages and elements). The dashboard
immediately disappears from every read surface — list, get, favorites, revisions — but its
revision history is retained, so the delete is recoverable. **Editor or above**
(`dashboard:write`): the same gate as deleting a page or element, i.e. an admin or editor on
the dashboard. Idempotent: deleting an already-deleted (or cross-tenant) dashboard returns 404.

## Response `204`

Deleted.

## Other responses

- `400`: Malformed request.
- `401`: Missing, invalid, or expired session.
- `403`: The caller's role does not permit this action.
- `404`: Resource does not exist.
