# Update member

`PATCH /api/sites/multiscreen/{site_name}/membership/members/{id}`

## Request

- Auth: HTTP basic

Updates the member's groups and/or status, and returns the updated member.

## Path parameters

- `site_name` string, required
- `id` string, required

## Request body

- ApiUpdateMemberRequest
  - `groups` GroupRefById[], nullable: Target state of the member's groups. Will not be updated if not provided
    - `id` string: Group id
  - `status` 'ACTIVE', nullable: Target member's status. Will not be updated if not provided

  - `first_name` string: The member's first name
  - `groups` ApiGroupRelationResponse[]: The member's groups
    - `id` string: Group id
    - `name` string: Name of the group
  - `id` string: The member's id within the site
  - `last_login` string: The member's last login ISO date-time
  - `last_name` string: The member's last name
  - `registered` string: The member's registered ISO date-time
  - `status` 'PENDING' | 'ACTIVE' | 'UNAUTHORIZED': The member's status: - PENDING: Site owner did not yet approve the member (for approval-based membership), the member will not have access to any protected site pages - ACTIVE: Membership is approved, the member has some access to protected site pages - UNAUTHORIZED: Indicates that members count limit was reached for the site, the member will not have access to any protected site pages

## Other responses

- `400`: Bad request. The request is malformed or failed validation.
- `401`: Unauthorized. The credentials are missing or invalid.
- `429`: Too many requests. The rate limit was exceeded.
