# Update staff member

`PUT /api/sites/multiscreen/{site_name}/booking/staff-members/{id}`

## Request

- Auth: HTTP basic

Partially updates a staff member: only the fields present in the request are changed, and any field omitted keeps its current value. The linked Duda account can be switched to a different one through account_name, but it cannot be removed - this API has no way to turn an account-linked staff member back into a standalone one.

## Request body

- ApiUpdateStaffMemberRequest
  - `account_name` string, nullable: Name of a Duda account that will be associated with the staff member. For more information about accounts, see: https://developer.duda.co/reference/accounts-object. This is a partial update - only fields provided in the request will be updated. If provided, the account must exist and not be already associated with another staff member in this organization. If omitted or set to null, the account association remains unchanged. Note: Removing account association is not supported through this API - the account association can only be changed to a different account, not removed.
  - `email` string, nullable: Email address of the staff member. This is a partial update - only fields provided in the request will be updated. If provided, must be a valid email address format and cannot be empty or blank. If omitted, the email remains unchanged.
  - `name` string, nullable: Full name of the staff member. This is a partial update - only fields provided in the request will be updated. If provided, cannot be empty or blank. If omitted, the name remains unchanged.

OK

  - `account_name` string, nullable: Name of the Duda account associated with the staff member. For more information about accounts, see: https://developer.duda.co/reference/accounts-object. Null if the staff member is not associated with any account.
  - `email` string, required: Email address of the staff member
  - `id` string, required: Unique identifier for the staff member
  - `name` string, required: Full name of the staff member

## Other responses

- `400`: Non-OK response from the server
- `401`: Unauthorized request - missing or invalid credentials
- `429`: Rate limit exceeded - please refer to api documentation for limits
