# Change a project's text, link name, cover, details, or categories

`PATCH /v1/showcases/{showcaseId}/projects/{projectId}`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.dropl.io` (the document declares no server; this is the origin it was published from)

- Auth: HTTP bearer

Requires the `showcases:write` scope (create and edit showcases, categories, and tags).

## Request body

- UpdateProjectRequest: details merges (null clears one); categoryIds replaces.
  - `title` string
  - `subtitle` string, nullable: E.g. the location.
  - `description` string, nullable
  - `slug` string: Used in project links; derived from the title when omitted.
  - `details` object: Detail key to value: numbers for number and year, YYYY-MM-DD for date, an option value (or label) for select. null clears one.
  - `categoryIds` string[]
  - `coverImageId` string, uuid, nullable: A photo in this project, or null for the first ready photo.

## Other responses

- `400`: Validation failed
- `401`: `INVALID_API_KEY`: missing, invalid, expired, or revoked key
- `403`: `INSUFFICIENT_SCOPE` (names the missing scope), `SITE_RESTRICTED_KEY`, or a plan limit
- `404`: Not found, or outside the key's sites
- `429`: Rate limited
