# Remove a collaborator from a site

`DELETE /api/v1/sites/{slug}/members/{userId}`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.dotsy.ai`
- URL: `https://api.dotsy.ai/api/v1/sites/{slug}/members/{userId}`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

Takes away one person's access to this site. It does not touch workspace teammates, whose access comes from the workspace. The last explicit site owner can't be removed. Needs the site Owner role.

## Other responses

- `401`: Missing or invalid credentials.
- `403`: `forbidden_role`: managing a site's people needs the site Owner role.
- `404`: `site_not_found`, or `member_not_found`: that person has no explicit access to this site.
- `409`: `last_owner`: this is the site's only owner. Assign another owner first.
