# Request a workspace ownership transfer

`POST /api/workspaces/{id}/ownership-transfer`

## Request

- Auth: HTTP bearer

Owner-only. Sends a 48-hour acceptance link to an existing member. Nothing moves until that authenticated member accepts.

Ownership transfer requested

## Other responses

- `401`: Missing or invalid API key
- `403`: Handing out mailbox access needs the email:auth_secrets scope (INSUFFICIENT_SCOPE), and a mailbox-confined token can hand out only its own mailboxes (MAILBOX_CONFINED)
- `429`: Rate limit exceeded - wait and retry
