# Report on a task

`POST /api/assistant/tasks/{id}/report`

## Request

- Auth: HTTP bearer

What the assignee did and how it ended: done (the matter resolves, or waits when an answer is still expected), blocked (the owner is asked), or handed back (the owner takes over and the rule stays off this matter). Claims are reconciled with the receipts the platform wrote: a claim without a receipt is recorded as a claim, never as a fact. The lease is released. Requires `assistant:write`.

## Other responses

- `400`: Invalid report
- `401`: Missing or invalid API key
- `403`: The matter is not handed to the caller
- `404`: No such task in the caller's scope
- `429`: Rate limit exceeded - wait and retry
