# Retry failed history-import messages

`POST /api/assistant/backfill`

## Request

Requeues terminal failures from the latest import for mailboxes that remain AI-enabled. Automatic retries have already been exhausted before a message appears here. Requires the assistant:write scope.

Number of terminal failures requeued

## Other responses

- `401`: Missing or invalid API key
- `429`: Rate limit exceeded - wait and retry
