# Captures a payment

`POST /payment-intents/{paymentIntentId}/captures`

Captures a payment intent that has previously been created but not yet refunded or reversed. You can capture the full amount or a partial amount.

- `paymentIntentId` string, nullable, required

- `version` string, date, required

## Request body

- CreateCaptureRequest: The capture request object.
  - `amount` integer, required: The capture amount. You can capture a full or partial amount. Multiple partial captures can be made on the same total.
  - `tipsAmount` integer, nullable: The tip amount.

## Response `200`

OK

- Capture: The capture response object.
  - `message` string, nullable: The description of the operation.
  - `captureId` string, nullable: The unique identifier for the capture.

## Other responses

- `400`: Bad request
- `401`: Unauthorized
- `409`: Conflict
