# Ask Ava (streaming)

`POST /ava/v1/ask`

Send a question to Ava and receive a streaming response via Server-Sent Events (SSE).
The response streams back events containing the answer text, conversation ID, and message metadata.

## Request body

- AvaAskRequest
  - `question` string, required — The question to ask Ava.
  - `conversationId` string — Optional ID of an existing conversation to continue.

## Response `200`

OK - SSE stream of Ava response events.

## Other responses

- `400` — Bad Request - The server cannot process the request, often due to a malformed request.
- `401` — Unauthorized - Invalid API key.
- `403` — Forbidden - The client is not authorized to perform the request.
- `500` — Internal Server Error - Something went wrong with the DoiT API server.
