# Mint an acme-dns credential scoped to this hostname

`POST /v1/hostnames/{id}/acme-credential`

## Request

Creates a DNS-01 publishing credential for exactly this hostname. At most 5 per hostname. The password is shown only in this response.

Credential created

- AcmeRegistration: acme-dns registration blob. The password appears exactly once, at creation.
  - `username` string, uuid, required
  - `password` string, required
  - `fulldomain` string, required
  - `subdomain` string, required: Equals username; send it in acme-dns update calls.
  - `server_url` string, required
  - `allowfrom` string[], required

## Other responses

- `400`: Credential limit reached (5)
- `401`: Missing or invalid API key
- `403`: Key lacks the dns01:write scope, or is narrowed to another hostname
- `404`: Hostname not found
- `409`: Hostname is released, suspended or terminated
- `429`: More than 10 credential mints in a minute in this team.
- `500`: Unexpected server error.
