# lego httpreq provider: publish a challenge

`POST /httpreq/present`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://dnsmint.com/api`

- Auth: one of:
  - HTTP basic
  - HTTP bearer

The endpoint lego's built-in httpreq provider posts to. Body {fqdn, value} as lego sends it in its default mode; HTTP basic auth with the API key as the password. The hostname is read from the fqdn, and the name says which method is meant: _acme-challenge is dns-01, the same name behind an account label is dns-account-01, and _validation-persist is a dns-persist-01 grant. RAW mode ({domain, token, keyAuth}) is refused.

## Request body

- object
  - `fqdn` string, required: One of "_acme-challenge.<hostname>.", "_<account-label>._acme-challenge.<hostname>." for dns-account-01, or "_validation-persist.<hostname>.".
  - `value` string, required: For a challenge name, the 43-character DNS-01 key authorization. For _validation-persist, the grant: "<issuer>; accounturi=<uri>".

## Other responses

- `400`: Invalid JSON, fqdn is not a challenge name, value is not 43 characters, or RAW mode
- `401`: Missing or invalid API key
- `403`: Key lacks dns01:write, or is narrowed to another hostname
- `404`: No hostname by that name on this account
- `409`: Hostname is released, suspended or terminated
- `429`: More than 20 challenge updates in a minute on this hostname
- `500`: Unexpected server error.
