# Create Evaluation Dataset

`POST /v2/gen-ai/evaluation_datasets`

To create an evaluation dataset, send a POST request to `/v2/gen-ai/evaluation_datasets`.

## Request body

- ApiCreateEvaluationDatasetInputPublic — Creates an evaluation dataset for an agent
  - `file_upload_dataset` ApiFileUploadDataSource — File to upload as data source for knowledge base.
    - `original_file_name` string — The original file name
    - `size_in_bytes` string, uint64 — The size of the file in bytes
    - `stored_object_key` string — The object key the file was stored as
  - `name` string — The name of the agent evaluation dataset.

## Response `200`

A successful response.

- ApiCreateEvaluationDatasetOutput — Output for creating an agent evaluation dataset
  - `evaluation_dataset_uuid` string — Evaluation dataset uuid.

## Other responses

- `401` — Authentication failed due to invalid credentials.
- `404` — The resource was not found.
- `429` — The API rate limit has been exceeded.
- `500` — There was a server error.
- `default` — There was an unexpected error.
