# Retrieve the SQL Modes for a MySQL Cluster

`GET /v2/databases/{database_cluster_uuid}/sql_mode`

To retrieve the configured SQL modes for an existing MySQL cluster, send a GET request to `/v2/databases/$DATABASE_ID/sql_mode`.
The response will be a JSON object with a `sql_mode` key. This will be set to a string representing the configured SQL modes.

## Path parameters

- `database_cluster_uuid` string, uuid, required

## Response `200`

A JSON string with a key of `sql_mode`.

- SqlMode
  - `sql_mode` string, required — A string specifying the configured SQL modes for the MySQL cluster.

## Other responses

- `401` — Authentication failed due to invalid credentials.
- `404` — The resource was not found.
- `429` — The API rate limit has been exceeded.
- `500` — There was a server error.
- `default` — There was an unexpected error.
