# Retrieve Exec URL

`GET /v2/apps/{app_id}/components/{component_name}/exec`

Returns a websocket URL that allows sending/receiving console input and output to a component of the active deployment if one exists.

## Path parameters

- `app_id` string, required
- `component_name` string, required

## Query parameters

- `instance_name` string

## Response `200`

A JSON object with a websocket URL that allows sending/receiving console input and output.

  - `url` string — A websocket URL that allows sending/receiving console input and receiving console output.

## Other responses

- `401` — Authentication failed due to invalid credentials.
- `404` — The resource was not found.
- `429` — The API rate limit has been exceeded.
- `500` — There was a server error.
