# Pause Agent For Thread

`POST /api/threads/{thread_id}/pause-agent`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.dialogbrain.com` (the document declares no server; this is the origin it was published from)
- URL: `https://api.dialogbrain.com/api/threads/{thread_id}/pause-agent`
- Auth: none declared

Put the AI agent on hold for this thread until an operator resumes it.

The same state a manual reply sets (`paused_by_human`), written on
purpose. It exists because the per-thread auto-reply switch is hidden for
workspaces whose agents are all `agentic` (that switch only feeds the
ai_assisted path), which left an operator with no way to silence an
agentic agent on one conversation short of typing into it. Cleared by
/unpause-agent, exactly like the automatic pause.

## Path parameters

- `thread_id` integer, required

## Response `200`

Successful Response

- unknown

## Other responses

- `422`: Validation Error
