# Administrative Divisions

`GET /administrative-divisions`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api-dev.despegar.com/v3`

- Auth: API key in header `x-apikey`

Returns a paginated list of administrative divisions (states, provinces, or equivalent) for a given country.

- object
  - `items` object[]: List of administrative divisions.
    - `id` string: Internal numeric identifier of the administrative division.
    - `gid` string: Global identifier combining type and id. E.g.: `ADM_14061`.
    - `code` string: Internal code for the division. E.g.: `B` (Buenos Aires), `S` (Santa Fe).
    - `descriptions` object: Localized division names keyed by language code. May be empty for some records.
    - `country_id` string: Internal numeric identifier of the country this division belongs to.
    - `country_gid` string: Global identifier of the country. E.g.: `COU_20010`.
    - `capital_id` string: Internal numeric identifier of the capital city. Not always present.
    - `capital_gid` string: Global identifier of the capital city. E.g.: `CIT_4203`. Not always present.
    - `capital` object: Basic information about the capital city. Not always present.
      - `id` string: Internal numeric identifier of the capital.
      - `offset` number: UTC timezone offset of the capital city in hours.
    - `location` object: Geographic polygon defining the boundaries of the division. Only present for some divisions.
      - `type` 'POLYGON': Geometry type.
      - `latitude` number: Reference latitude of the division.
      - `longitude` number: Reference longitude of the division.
      - `coordinates` object[]: List of points that define the polygon boundary.
        - `type` 'POINT'

        - `longitude` number
    - `configurations` string[]: List of product and platform configurations in which this division is available.
    - `pictures` object[]: List of pictures associated with the division. Always empty.
    - `last_update_date` string, date-time: Date and time of the last update to this record.
  - `paging` object: Pagination information for the response.
    - `offset` integer: Starting index of the returned results.
    - `limit` integer: Maximum number of results returned per page.
    - `total` integer: Total number of divisions available for the given country.

## Other responses

- `400`: Bad Request. A required query parameter is missing or invalid.
- `401`: Unauthorized. The request is missing a valid API key.
- `500`: Internal Server Error.
