# Simulate payment on a sandbox checkout (public)

`POST /api/pay/{id}/simulate`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.depixapp.com`
- URL: `https://api.depixapp.com/api/pay/{id}/simulate`
- Auth: none required

Public simulate used by the hosted sandbox checkout page. Only sandbox (is_live=0) checkouts in pending status; live checkouts are 403 sandbox_only.

## Path parameters

- `id` string, required

## Response `200`

Simulated as paid.

- SuccessResponse: Generic success acknowledgment.
  - `success` true, required: Always true on success.

## Other responses

- `403`: Live checkout — simulation is sandbox-only.
- `404`: Checkout not found — includes rows owned by another account (ownership is never disclosed).
- `409`: The checkout is not pending / cannot transition.
- `429`: Rate limited (per-IP, per-key or per-merchant window). Retry after `retry_after` seconds (also in the Retry-After header).
