# Create sending identity

`POST /email/sending-identities`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://www.dench.com/api/v1`
- URL: `https://www.dench.com/api/v1/email/sending-identities`
- Auth: one of:
  - HTTP bearer
  - HTTP bearer

Create a durable Dench email sending identity record.

## Request body

- object
  - `type` 'domain' | 'email', required: Identity scope. `domain` verifies via DNS (DKIM); `email` verifies a single mailbox via a confirmation email.
  - `domain` string: Lowercase domain; required when type is `domain`.
  - `fromEmail` string, required: Sender mailbox, e.g. founder@example.com.
  - `fromName` string: Default display name for the sender.
  - `replyToEmail` string
  - `configurationSetName` string

## Response `200`

Successful response

  - `identityId` string, required

## Other responses

- `400`: Invalid request
- `401`: Missing or invalid authentication
- `404`: Operation or resource not found
- `500`: Server error
