# Delete recording

`DELETE /recordings/{token}`

## Request

Permanently deletes a recording and everything derived from it.

**This action is irreversible.** It removes the media file, the transcript (including the copy held
by the transcription service), summaries, deal insights, statistics, AI tags, AI chat messages and
other AI artifacts. Scorecards are kept but lose their link to the recording. A manually uploaded
meeting is removed together with its last recording.

The recording row is deleted synchronously; the erasure of the media file and the transcript completes
asynchronously shortly after. A `204` response means the recording is gone and its erasure is scheduled.

Deleting requires the permission to delete the recording in the web app: the host of the meeting,
a company admin, or a manager with access to it. A recording that is visible but not deletable
returns `403`. A recording that is not visible, unknown, or already deleted returns `404`.

Rate limits:
- Global: 120 requests per minute per API key.
- Endpoint-specific: 5 requests per minute per API key.

Recording deleted; erasure of media and transcript is scheduled.

## Other responses

- `401`: API key is missing or invalid.
- `403`: The authenticated user is not allowed to access this resource, e.g. it is not assigned to a company.
- `404`: Resource was not found.
- `429`: Rate limit exceeded.
