# Register someone for an event date (POST)

`POST /event/register`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://my.demio.com/api/v1`
- URL: `https://my.demio.com/api/v1/event/register`
- Auth: API key in header `Api-Key` and API key in header `Api-Secret`

Identical to `PUT /event/register`. Both verbs are accepted so a client
that cannot send `PUT` is not blocked.

## Request body

- RegistrationRequest: Identify the event with `id` or `ref_url`, and the person with `name` and `email`.
  - `id` integer: The event id. Use this or `ref_url`.
  - `ref_url` string, uri: The event's registration page link. Use this or `id`.
  - `date_id` integer: The event date to register for. Omit it to use the event's next date.
  - `name` string, required: The person's full name, as one field. It must not contain a URL.
  - `email` string, email, required

## Response `201`

The person is registered.

- RegistrationResult
  - `hash` string, required: The registrant's identifier for this event date.
  - `join_link` string, uri, required: The link the person opens to join.

## Other responses

- `400`: The payload was rejected. Each problem is listed.
- `401`: The credentials were missing or rejected.
- `403`: The account is not active, or the id in the path is not one your account may read. An id that does not exist answers here too, so the API does not reveal whether it exists.
- `417`: The per-minute request rate or the account's daily API allowance was exceeded.
- `500`: Something failed on our side. The message is always generic; no internal detail is returned.
