# Get a list of groups associated with user.

`GET /access/users/{user_id}/groups`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://replace-with-account.api.decodable.co/v1alpha2`

Requires permission matching: `user:read:<id>`.

Result only includes resources for which the requesting user has permission matching:
`group:read:<name>`, where `name` is the group name.

## Query parameters

- `page_size` integer
- `page_token` string

## Response `200`

A list of groups.

- object
  - `next_page_token` string: A token that, that when passed to a subsequent call as page_token, will return the next page of results.
  - `items` Group[], required: An array of groups.
    - `id` string: An opaque ID, created by Decodable, that uniquely identifies a resource.
    - `name` string, required: The group name.
    - `description` string: The group description.
    - `create_time` string, date-time: The date and time the resource was created.
    - `update_time` string, date-time: The date and time the resource was updated.

## Other responses

- `400`: An invalid request was received.
- `403`: Access denied: requesting user lacks a required permission.
- `default`: An error has occurred.
